Songfacts®:

  • Randy Rogers Band hooked up with Alison Krauss and her long-term collaborator Dan Tyminski to record this old-time-country infused track. The song was penned by Earl Bud Lee, the writer of "Friends In Low Places."
  • It was the Nothing Shines Like Neon producer, Buddy Cannon, who brought Alison Krauss on board. Randy Rogers explained to The Boot: "'Look Out Yonder' has been knocking around Nashville for 10 years, and Buddy couldn't believe that nobody cut it, so we did, and he played it for Alison, and she was like, 'You know, that's a beautiful song, and I'd love to sing on it.'"
