  • Rita Ekwere is a British singer and songwriter who records under the name of Ray BLK. In 2016, Ekwere self-released her mini album Durt, which includes this song about her home town of Catford in London. She penned the tune at a time when she had just been robbed. Ekwere recalled to the BBC:

    "I honestly just wanted to leave. I was like, 'I'm getting robbed. My neighbors sell drugs out of their house. It's not where I need to be.'"

    She added: "I was extremely upset because my laptop got stolen and it had all my old songs that I'd been writing for years and years. It hurt so much."
  • Ekwere hooked up with her fellow Londoner, grime artist Stormzy, for this tune. She explained the collaboration to NME during a January 2017 interview:

    "I met him three years ago at a local talent show. He gave me some advice about the music industry; to take my time and focus on my music. I said that at the right time we'd work together one day - then the right time came."
