  • In 2004 Ray Davies was shot in the leg by a mugger in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The singer explained on his official VEVO YouTube page that he wrote this song after the incident as he reflected on waking up in the hospital emergency room with gunshot wounds. It refers to the two men who worked as Davies' bodyguards when he used to tour with The Kinks.

Davis said the song is about "a guy called Tony and a guy called Bobby…what they meant to me. 'Cause I have a tendency to self-destruct on tours, like most musicians. And Tony was under instructions if I had more than two pints, he could break my arm…or threaten to."
