  • Rebecca Ferguson is a single mother of two from Liverpool, who qualified as a legal secretary whilst also pursuing a music career. After unsuccessfully auditioning for The X Factor and P. Diddy's Starmaker in New York, Ferguson re-applied to the seventh series of X Factor and made it through the bootcamp and judges houses stages. In the December 12, 2010 final she dueted with Christina Aguilera, performing the American singer's hit single "Beautiful" and also sung her "winner song," a cover of Duffy's "Distant Dreamer" and ended as runner-up to Matt Cardle. Ferguson released the latter song the same day as her debut single.
