Songfacts®:

  • Northern Irish Christian folk rock and worship band Rend Collective released this one-off single on August 25, 2017. It is a reminder in these troubled times that the gospel message is one of good news. Said band member Gareth Gilkeson: "There's a lot of bad news out there, but no matter what, we have good news and that good news has a name: Jesus Christ. Today there is nothing more powerful we can do in the darkness, in the bleakness, than proclaim the good news, than proclaim the Gospel and that's why we wrote the song 'Rescuer'. The good Lord came to seek and save and maybe that's a message you need to hear today. Maybe you need to know that you can be rescued. Maybe you just need to celebrate the fact that you have been rescued. Jesus is our rescuer and there is good news in him."
