  • This single from Rick Ross' fifth studio album, God Forgives, I Don't finds the rapper reiterating one of his tales of struggle. "That's the struggle, the angle I wanted to take on that record once again from somebody who may not have much, but that don't determine where you end up in the game," he explained to MTV News. "From struggle to triumph, as long as you stay loyal with your clique and your family, you can overcome whatever. That's how I feel."
  • So why God Forgives, I Don't? Ross explained to Billboard magazine that he wanted the record to pack the epic scope of a Brian De Palma film. "This album is almost like a movie," he said. "I wanted [the title] to be something that was extremely emotional, to set up a real roller coaster ride as far as the music and thought process. It sounds like a term of retaliation, and with the picture that I'm painting, it felt perfect."
  • The song's black and white video was filmed in New Orleans. Speaking to MTV News about the clip, Ross shared: "We went to New Orleans to capture that essence. I feel like New Orleans [has] been through it a lot, more than the majority of others, and they're still strong, they're still standing, they still got that pride. So you know, we went out to New Orleans, no permits, just pulled up in the Calliope projects and jumped out."
