Songfacts®:

  • This 1984 single is featured on the soundtrack of the movie Hard To Hold, which was supposed to be Rick Springfield's film acting break. Springfield had acted on television before, as Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital, as well as being a popular musician. The film was a flop, with critics saying it should have been named "Hard To Watch," but the soundtrack was somewhat successful with three US Top 40 hits: "Don't Walk Away," "Bop 'Til You Drop," and the top five hit "Love Somebody."
  • This single, which is a duet with Randy Crawford, is about a couple whose marriage has become a routine and the love is gone, but they've stayed together out of habit and fear of being alone. >>>
