This 1:34 track opens Rihanna's fourth album, Rated R. It's a taste of what's to come as well as a warning, as an announcer says:

To those among you who are easily frightened
We suggest you turn away now

Indeed, the album is rather dark, particularly the tracks "Russian Roulette" and "G4L." Rihanna started going down this path with her hit "Disturbia" the previous year.
The song is one of three on the album produced by the British production duo Chase & Status, the other two being "Wait Your Turn" and "G4L." Rihanna told The Daily Telegraph November 18, 2009: "From when I first heard Chase & Status, I had to work with them. These two guys are magic. They make the grungiest, most amazing beats ever."
Rihanna wrote the lyric with Makeba Riddick, who also worked on the big hit from the album, "Rude Boy."
