Songfacts®:

  • This country-flavored song, co-written by Ringo Starr with Eurythmics guitarist Dave Stewart, was the first tune penned for his Give More Love album. Originally intended to be a full-fledged country record recorded in Nashville, Starr changed his plans after receiving an unexpectedly good offer for a new All Starr Band tour.

"It was an offer I couldn't resist," he admitted. "That's how I ended up making another album at home [in Los Angeles] and writing all kinds of songs with all kinds of friends - everybody giving more love, and just letting the music flow."
  • Dave Stewart also plays on the track along with session players bassist Nathan East, pedal-steel guitarist Greg Leisz and keyboardist Jim Cox.
  • The song was inspired by a phrase someone said to Ringo Starr in 2008. He recalled to Billboard magazine: "I just thought, 'That's a great line, and finally turned it into a record, into a track."
