Songfacts®:

  • "Let Love Be Your Energy" is the opening song on Robbie Williams' third album, Sing When You're Winning. It's about the power of love to make the world a better place, with Williams declaring in the anthemic chorus: "If you're willing to change the world, let love be your energy. I got more than I need, when your love shines down on me."
  • This was the first music video Williams didn't physically star in. Instead, the video takes the form of a computer animation, with a cartoon version of Williams seen running through forests and scaling mountains in search of love. The video caused a stir at the time due to its raunchy sex scenes. Consequently, a more family-friendly edit was issued for television channels to air during the day.
  • "Let Love Be Your Energy" was the fourth single released from Sing When You're Winning after "Rock DJ," the Kylie Minogue-featuring "Kids," and "Supreme." The song peaked at #10 in the UK.
