Songfacts®:

  • Roddy Ricch is a rapper out of Compton, California. He spent time living in Atlanta, Georgia, which explains why he raps with a distinct Southern flair.

Ricch's breakout single, "Die Young," was written the night rapper XXXTentacion died. It accumulated over 8 million streams on Spotify and was included on his second mixtape, Feed Tha Streets II, which peaked at #68 on the US album chart.

That song's success attracted the interest of Meek Mill, who recruited Ricch to spit a verse on his Championships track "Splash Warning," which bought him his first Hot 100 ink. The Philly rapper also signed the Compton rapper up to his Dreamchasers label.
  • This song finds Roddy Ricch talking about all he's achieved since he came through from the streets. Though he's now flaunting expensive jewelry, the rapper came from the bottom so he knows "how it is."
  • Ricch goes down the UK route for this track, recruiting two British rappers, North London's Chip and East London's Yxng Bane, to spit guest verses.
