• Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever was formed in Melbourne in 2013 by singer-guitarists Tom Russo, Fran Keaney and Keaney's cousin Joe White. Russo's bassist brother Joe Russo and drummer Marcel Tussie completed the line-up. This is a song from their debut full-length album, Hope Downs.
• The song is Tom Russo's portrayal of a young couple meeting in a crummy, fictional cafe. "It's very much a cafe Culture in Melbourne," Russo explained to Uncut "and I guess the cappuccino is considered quite passé. So the idea is that Cappuccino City is this greasy spoon, not a trendy upmarket, single origin type cafe. It has a buzzing sign and dirty cups."
  
  He continued: "And this guy's hearing the songs on the radio, it's tuned to the golden oldies station, and he's hearing this Midnight Oil song, Short Memory, in the background, so that line 'Belgians in the Congo' is a line from that - it's an homage."
  
  "We like putting a magnifying glass up to a relationship or a story that hasn't been told before," Keaney concluded. "And making it this big grand melodrama, just trying to make it interesting, to make things fizz."
• A cappuccino is an espresso-based coffee drink that originated in post-World War II, and is traditionally prepared with double espresso, and steamed milk foam.
  
  The name Cappuccino comes from the resemblance of its color to the robes of the Roman monks of the Capuchin order, which is light/darkish brown with a white hood.
  
  The first use of cappuccino in English was recorded in 1948 in a work about San Francisco.
