Songfacts®:

  • "Omega" is a love ballad that finds Rosalía completely head over heels, wrapped up in the blissful contentment of having found the one. Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet; it symbolizes the ultimate, the end of a long search.

As Rosalía explained, the song is a celebration of "having found what you wanted so much and the security with which one loves that makes you not want to be anywhere else but there."
  • Ralphie Choo, a Madrid-based singer-songwriter and producer, joins Rosalía on the track. His verse mirrors her sentiments as he returns the love. "It's been such a pleasure to collaborate with Ralphie. He's a whirlwind of energy in the studio!," said Rosalia of Choo.
  • Rosalia and Choo spent quite a bit of time exchanging songs and ideas before settling into the studio to work on "Omega," a process that Rosalía described as a natural fit thanks to their shared musical tastes.
  • "Omega" was recorded in the last few months of 2023, a period when Rosalía started dating actor Jeremy Allen White. First seen together at an LA screening of Wild Things in October, the pair were seen several times together over the next few months. It doesn't take a degree in celebrity sleuthing to suggest that this budding romance fueled the starry-eyed tone of the track.
  • Musically, the song harks back to Rosalía's 2018 El Mal Querer days, blending hip-hop with flamenco in a way that's become something of her signature. Co-produced with Ralphie Choo, Dylan Patrice, and Noah Goldstein, the tender, guitar-laced ballad reflects the influence of the "Rusia-IDK" collective, of which Choo is a member. The collective, known for its distinctive hip-hop-flamenco fusion, matches the track's soulful, layered sound.

Patrice and Goldstein also had a hand in seven tracks on Rosalía's Motomami album, including her collaboration with The Weeknd, "La Fama."
  • The music video, directed by Stillz in Los Angeles, shows Rosalia and Choo on a roller coaster. Stillz has shot several previous Rosalia visuals, including "La Noche de Anoche" and "Tuya."
  • Rosalía gave "Omega" its live debut on September 24, 2024, as part of Barcelona's La Mercé festivities. The performance, which was set against a backdrop of musical fireworks, capped off the city's official local holiday. The song was officially released one day later, on September 25, which coincided with Rosalía's 32nd birthday.
