Songfacts®:

  • This bilingual track finds Rosalia linking up with Travis Scott. The Spanish flamenco-pop singer drops Mafioso lyrics, comparing her network of friends to the Sicilian Mafia. She references omertà, the Southern Italian code of honor that places the importance of silence when being questioned by outsiders. Rosalia stresses the importance of trust and loyalty within her close circle.
  • Scott's sensual verse is about his attraction to a curvy woman who has caught his eye. He raps a few lines in Spanish, during which he compares her measurements to those of a Brazilian lady.
  • "TKN" is an abbreviation of Tekken, a series of Japanese fighting video and arcade games. Tekken means "iron fist" in Japanese, which fits in with the song's Mafia theme.
  • "TKN" was supposed to come out in March 2020, but Rosalia held off its release because of the coronavirus pandemic. She felt the trap banger "is so aggressive, it has like an energy that I think that is so specific for a certain moment." The song was eventually dropped on May 28, 2020.
  • This is the second collaboration between Rosalia and Travis Scott after they first linked up on "Highest In The Room" in 2019. That version is the opening track of the Houston rap titan Cactus Jack compilation project, Jackboys.
  • The song became a global TikTok phenomenon and topped the charts in Spain and Colombia, while becoming a Top 10 hit in many other countries, including Argentina, Portugal and New Zealand.
  • When the song entered the Hot 100, Rosalia became the first solo Spanish artist to reach the chart since Rocío Jurado's "All Of Me For All Of You" peaked at #51 in 1985.
