Songfacts®:

  • Rubicon Cross is fronted by CJ Snare from the band FireHouse. In our interview with Snare, he explained that this song is about band unity. "It was about our band and a band of brothers standing in the face of adversity, like the band against the world," he said. "Tough times in the music industry and hopefully coming out on the other side better for it."
  • After he came up with the title, CJ Snare did some research on the phrase and learned that it had a lot of meaning in other genres. In the Shakespeare play Henry V, the king says, "For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother."

Snare did some more research and learned that a similar phrase was used in the movie Braveheart, where Robert the Bruce says, "You have bled with Wallace, now bleed with me."
