Songfacts®:

  • Run the Jewels dropped this track in response to Donald Trump's highly contested presidential election victory. Killer Mike and El-P posted the guitar-laced emotional slow jam on SoundCloud as they felt it was relevant to the current political climate. In a statement, the hip-hop duo said the track was,

"For our friends. for our family. for everyone who is hurting or scared right now. here is a song we wrote months ago. We weren't planning on releasing it yet but… well it feels right, now. it's about fear and it's about love and it's about wanting more for all of us."
  • The track also features BOOTS who is best known for co-writing many of Beyoncé's songs from her eponymous 2013 album including "Drunk In Love" and "Partition."
