Songfacts®:

  • This pop-country song originated with a chorus that Russell Dickerson penned where he details how his wife Kailey likes it when he pours some Tequila, plays some John Denver, and dims the lights. Once he starts kissing her, she knows they're going to take their time and have an intimate night together.
  • When Dickerson shared the chorus on TikTok, he asked someone else to write a verse to it. Pop singer-songwriter and producer Jake Scott obliged and the Arkansas native added his own verse with his own wife, Rachel, in mind.

Dickerson added a verse of his own, listing some of the loving gestures Kailey likes him to do for her.
  • The two singers recorded the track together as Scott harmonizes and sings with Dickerson throughout the last part of the song. Scott also produced the track. "'She Likes It' is about falling more and more in love with someone the longer you're with them," said Scott. "It's about keeping the fire burning- not because you have to, but because you want to. It's about keeping things spicy."
  • Dickerson and Scott released their cross-genre collaboration as a single on November 5, 2021.
