  • Ryan Star told Artist Direct how this song was recorded in "a moment's time." He explained: "It was the first song I had the idea for when I started writing Animals, but it was the last song I finished. About ten minutes before recording, I had the idea for the song still. I went into the room, wrote the lyrics and the rest of the arrangement and talked to the band about it. We went back in and played it in one take. That's pretty much the only time that song has been played."
  • The song's music video was shot by American film and television director Joshua Butler, who has directed multiple episodes of the hit series The Vampire Diaries. "I met Joshua Butler because he was moved by my song 'Losing Your Memory' and placed it into one of his episodes of The Vampire Diaries," Star explained to Billboard magazine. "It was a beautiful scene and made me a great amount of new fans. We have since become very close friends -- through many great conversations and drinks we spoke about the next piece of our creative friendship. He so generously volunteered his talent and passion to capture something more real and raw from me in music video land."
