Songfacts®:

  • Sam "S-X" Gumbley is an English singer-songwriter best known for his work with KSI. Gumbley gained mainstream popularity as a producer when he featured on and produced KSI's 2019 hit single "Down Like That" alongside Rick Ross and Lil Baby. He later co-executive produced the rapper's 2020 debut album, Dissimulation, and co-wrote 10 tracks on his second record, All Over The Place.

In May 2020, Gumbley signed with Universal Music Group and Eterno Music. "Locked Out" is his first single to reach the UK singles chart.
  • S-X joins forces with KSI on this track. Both artists sing about relationships that are on the rocks. "The song is a reflection of being "locked out" of someone's presence or energy," S-X said. "Feeling like you don't know where you stand and going through ups and downs as a cycle."
  • S-X and KSI wrote the infectious song with frequent KSI collaborators Digital Farm Animals ("Don't Play," "Patience" and "Holiday") and Ivory Scott ("Cap," "Number 2," "Lose").
  • S-X co-produced the tune with Nana Rogues (Tinie Tempah's "Girls Like," Drake's "Passionfruit" and Dave's "Streatham") and Diego Ave (KSI's "Patience" and "No Time").
