Songfacts®:

  • London-based artist S1mba broke through with this bright cut. The song's concept is that S1mba prefers making "mu la la" (money) to the love of a girl.
  • The titular "rover" is S1mba's his high-end car. When the ladies see the young artist pull up in his Range Rover, they are all over him, but his only love is "for the p's and pounds."
  • DTG (DejiTheGamer) spits a guest verse. Like S1mba, the Croydon YouTuber turned musician has no time "for a honey" but plenty of time "for this money."
  • The catchy song climbed up the UK charts after it became a viral sensation on TikTok. Thousands of TikTokkers posted videos of themselves dancing the trending #mulachallenge dance.
  • S1mba first released "Rover" independently in November 2019 under his own label imprint RAX Productions. After it attracted attention on TikTok, S1mba was snapped up by Parlophone and the song re-released. The first thing S1mba bought after signing his Parlophone contract was a Range Rover.
  • The song also reached the Top 10 in Australia and New Zealand, helped by an Australian remix featuring Youngn Lipz, Hooligan Hefs, and Hooks.
