Songfacts®:

  • Sabrina Washington rose to fame as a member of the female R&B quartet Mis-Teeq, who had seven Top 10 UK singles in the early 2000s. After the girl band split up in 2005, Washington disappeared from the public radar until late 2009 when she featured in the ITV1 reality TV show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Of Here. She released this her first solo single on March 22, 2010.
  • The song was helmed by Tinie Tempah producer Labyrinth and written by Washington with Ali Tennant. She told Digital Spy about the song: "The lyrics are quite in-your-face and tongue-in-cheek. It's all about having fun in the world as is right now. I wrote it with Ali Tennant, who's worked with Britney and JLS, and we have a really good chemistry. When we went into the studio with the producer, Labrinth, the next day, we knew it was a hit."
  • The song samples Snap's 1992 dance hit "Rhythm is a Dancer." Washington explained to Digital Spy: "I just think 'Rhythm Is A Dancer' is a classic and no-one's really used it before. It gives the track a bit of familiarity too, so it was a clever little trick to put it in there!"
  • The music video features Washington in an array of different outfits, which were styled by celebrity stylist Richard Shoyemi. Some accused Washington of imitating Lady Gaga in the clip. She responded to Digital Spy: "If anything, my influence for the video was actually Grace Jones. She's always pushed the envelope with style and fashion and I think she's just amazing. My style has always been current and experimental and if I'd been out two or three years ago, I'd have got there before Lady Gaga!"
