Songfacts®:

  • This song is based on the Heaven's Gate cult, a group of 39 people who committed suicide in 1997 to coincide with the appearance of the Hale–Bopp, which they believed was leading a spaceship that would take them away.

"It is pretty morose and it is talking about the end," lead singer A/J Jackson told us. "But it's also talking about people this character met, as some of the best friends he's ever had. And in a way, that's not such a bad thing, even though it is a cult and it ended badly. It's almost endearing in a way."
  • A/J Jackson also directed the video, which like their clip for "Benny Goodman," was shot at the Dresden Room in Los Angeles.
