Songfacts®:

  • What would you say about a song that contained the following couplet?

    Oh, my computer
    Brings me the perfect suitor

One thing you would probably not say about it is that it was written by a composer who died in 1904. Can this be true? Half-true! The music to "Email Female" is actually based on "Humoresques" by Antonín Dvorák.

This particular version was recorded by the American jazz singer Salena Jones. Musically it may be strictly classical but lyrically it is more akin to "The Piña Colada Song."

This is far from the first "reinterpretation" of this Dvorák piece, some of which are not suitable for those of a sensitive disposition! >>>
