Songfacts®:

  • This song finds Sam Fender offering a scathing take on celebrity culture.

I drink and watch the zoo in motion
    Beautiful people devoid of emotion
    Sterilized, pedicured, pedigrees and mankind

Fender told the BBC though he doesn't identify with the Kardishans of this world, but like his fellow millennials, he still finds himself caught up in it. "I feel like we get a bad rep, but also at the same time I'm like [god] we're pretty stupid," he said.
  • The tongue in cheek cartoon video shows a variety of reality stars facing some bizarre situations. "It talks about our obsession with weightless pop culture and a generation of narcissists, like me, who follow it," Fender explained to NME.
  • Sam Fender told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column that "Poundshop Kardashians" is his hometown of Newcastle on a Saturday night. "Nobody wears coats," he said. "It's all muscles and V-necks and fake tan."
