Songfacts®:

  • Written by Sam Hunt with Josh Osborne and Matthew Ramsey, this track was released to country radio as the fifth single from his debut studio album Montevallo. The song had been floating around the web in video form for a while, as a solo performance by Hunt on a piano, before he recorded it for Montavello.
  • The song is about a guy who wants to make himself as unforgettable to a particular girl as possible. "It's implied that he wants to make her miss him the way that he misses her when she's not with him," said Hunt. "The attitude of the singer is a confident one, but there's also a vulnerability there because he really likes this girl and he misses her, so his only option is to make sure that he's not forgettable, and he figures out a way to make her miss him."
  • When this cracked the Top 10 on the country chart, Hunt became the first male artist since Mark Chesnutt in 1991 to have five songs from his debut album hit Top 10 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs tally.
  • Sam Hunt: "That title just came out, out of being in a relationship with a girl with a lot of those personality traits. It just sort of popped into my head one day, and I realized it was a song I needed to write, and it came together pretty quickly. It's still one of my favorites."
