Songfacts®:

  • This is one of several songs which was inspired by Hagar's belief that he was abducted by aliens as a child. Running 5:38, this necessarily enigmatic number is a Hagar solo composition, and the fifth track on his Nine On A Ten Scale album.

Although melodically "Silver Lights" has little if anything in common with Neil Young's "After The Gold Rush," the two songs are not a million miles apart. Or should that be light years? >>>
