  • This song is about Santigold's lawyer father, who died in 2004. He was about to stand trial charged with bribing officials and never had a chance to clear his name. This was the first song Santigold wrote after his death. She explained to the Sun newspaper May 16, 2008: "I hadn't written for a long, long time. I was too upset. I was weighed down by all this grief and when I wrote it, I was so angry. But then I put it away and one day I looked at it and saw it wasn't angry, it was just true. It's a very important song for me."
