Songfacts®:

  • This was the first single released by Sarah Darling after she parted from Black River Entertainment. She penned the song a couple of years previously after a fight with her boyfriend. "I usually don't write those kinds of songs," she told Examiner.com. "It's really funny that's the one that popped up. I just love it because it's fun. It's three minutes of 'You know what? Let's just go to the beach, grab an umbrella drink, sit back and unwind from the day.' It has that female Jimmy Buffett feel to it."
  • Releasing the song independently allowed Darling to record and make it available much faster than if had she still been on a label. "We were able to move so quickly. I decided it was a perfect song for summer, and went in and recorded it," she told Billboard magazine. "Within a week, we had it recorded and mastered. I played it for a few supporters of mine, and they said 'You've got to release that.' It was amazing to do it on your own - even down to the production. I had such an idea of what I wanted it to sound like."
  • The sun-soaked visual was filmed in Nashville. "I was thinking 'I've got to go to the beach to shoot the video', but it ended up that we knew somebody who had this amazing pool," Darling told Billboard. "This guy's backyard, you would have thought that you were in the Dominican Republic the way he had it set up. There were waterfalls, water slides, almost like a tropical heaven, so we shot it in Tennessee on a hot day. Everyone had so much fun."
