Songfacts®:

  • Sawyer Fredericks came to the public's attention as a result of winning the eighth season of The Voice in 2015. He set a show record by garnering nine Top 10 iTunes singles in six straight weeks, and at 16-years-old was the youngest winner in the show's history.
  • Fredericks advanced to the Top 12 of The Voice after covering Ray LaMontagne's single "Trouble." For the May 18, 2015 finale show Fredericks sung another Ray Lamontagne song, "Please," which was originally included on the singer-songwriter's 2003 self-released album Introducing Ray LaMontagne. Released as a single with an accompanying music video after Fredericks emerged as the winner of the show, it became his first Hot 100 Top 40 hit.
