Songfacts®:

  • The lead single to Schoolboy Q's Blank Face album, this is a braggadocios cut in which the TDE rapper details how real his life is.

Me no conversate with the fake, that part
All my bitches independent bitches, that part
I just want the paper, that part
    All my bitches flavored
That part, that part, that part, that part

"That part" is California slang used to emphasize what you're saying is factual. It's another way of saying "Am I right?" or "Isn't that true?"
  • Kanye West spits the second verse and the outro. He compares himself several times with the NBA icon Kobe Bryant, claiming they're both legends at their respective artistries. It is the first collaboration between Schoolboy Q and Yeezy.
  • West also supplied the drowsy-sounding beat, along with Cardo, ForeverYeX and Cubeatz.
  • ScHoolboy Q dropped the Black Hippy remix of his song just before the release of Blank Face. Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul each spit a verse on the new version.
  • Speaking on the Rap Radar podcast Schoolboy explained that Kanye West brought a "fun" element to the serious and personal tone of the album. "I needed something that was just easy listening, nothing serious… just give me a beat… and let's do this," he said.

ScHoolboy added that he didn't meet West in person until the Chicago MC showed up at the song's video shoot.
