Songfacts®:

  • This is the second single released from Night Work, the third studio album by American band Scissor Sisters.
  • The steamy cut features some steamy, X-rated lines including: "Take me anyway you like it; in front of the fireplace, in front of your yacht, in front of my parents." Frontman Jake Shears told the Daily Star newspaper that sex has always played a role in the group's music. He said: "I feel happier than ever with what we're doing. We're all really relaxed about it. There's no other band who could get away with this stuff. Our new music was born out of going to these insane sex parties. I guess some people love us for who we are, some vehemently despise us."
  • Co-vocalist Ana Matronic supplies an improvised verse about her deepest sexual desires towards the end of the track. Shears revealed to the Daily Star: "Ana's solo in that song was hilarious. If you get all the things right in a room for her you can stick a microphone in front of her and she'll come out with the most outrageous, amazing lines in one go. That was all one take, and totally improvised. I was having to try and keep my hysterics in check."
  • During their performance of this song at Glastonbury 2010, Kylie Minogue joined the Scissor Sisters. Shears told the NME that he initially got in touch with the Australian singer via text. "I texted her about five weeks ago – I just had the idea," he said. "I was pulling into an airport somewhere and it just popped into my head, and I sent her a text saying, 'Do you want to do a song with us at Glasto?', and two minutes later I got a text back with capital letters being like, 'Hell yeah!' We got on the phone immediately and I was like, 'We've gotta make this happen! Let's do it.'"
