Songfacts®:

  • This song, about a girl who just can't seem to decide whether she wants to be in a relationship, is a duet between Jamaican-American singer Sean Kingston and Canadian singer Justin Bieber. The song was written by The Jackie Boyz, who co-wrote Justin's "Down to Earth" and Benny Blanco, producer of Kesha's "Blah Blah Blah."
  • The song utilizes the children's counting rhyme "Eenie Meenie Miny Moe" throughout. The rhyme has existed in various forms since the 1850s, or perhaps earlier, and is common in many languages, with similar-sounding nonsense syllables. It has been utilized before in songs including "Eeny Meeny Miney Mo," a popular song written in 1935 by Johnny Mercer and Matty Malneck and the similarly titled "Eeny Meeny Miny Moe," which was an European hit for Dutch girl group Luv' in 1979.
  • Sean Kingston told MTV News how he hooked up with the Canadian pop star: "I met Justin about two years ago before he was the teenage phenom that he is now," he said. "I don't really have that same chemistry with some celebrities. God just made it happen."
  • The song's music video was shot at a house in the Hollywood Hills. Kingston explained its plot to Rap-Up.com: "The video is basically about this girl trying to play both of us and at the end ... we end up both at the same place at one time, and she's left with a stupid look on her face." The "eenie-meenie-miny-moe" girl is played by R&B and pop singer Jasmine Villegas, who also plays Justin's love interest in his "Baby" clip. Rapper Lil Romeo also appears in the video.
  • Kingston told MTV UK about recording this song with the Canadian pop star: "Justin's a really good friend of mine. He was in Miami for the Super Bowl, I live in Miami, so he came down to my place and we recorded the track at my house. He's a good friend, so us collaborating was just a natural thing."
