Songfacts®:

  • Over DJ Snake's low-key Latin-flavored electronic production, Selena Gomez sings of her crush on a guy who is with somebody else. Because they like making each other jealous by being with their other love interests, she calls it a "selfish love."
  • During the bilingual track, Gomez drifts back and forth between Spanish and English. She recorded the song for her first Spanish-language EP, Revelación.
  • This is the second collaboration between Gomez and DJ Snake, following "Taki Taki" with Cardi B and Ozuna. The French producer explained that he'd been in conversation with the songstress about doing something else together that incorporated similar "fresh summer vibes." This saxophone–tinged track is what they came up with; like "Taki Taki," he feels this is "something that made it feel like summer the first time you heard it."
  • Rodrigo Saavendra directed the surreal music video, which finds Gomez working at an eerie beauty parlor.
