  • The group formed in Atlanta in 1995 as Crawlspace. Before they released their first album in 1997, they changed their name to Sevendust.
  • Morgan Rose is married to Coal Chamber bassist Rayna Rose. They have a daughter together.
  • Sevendust take their name from a pesticide called "Sevindust" that Hornsby found in his grandmother's garage. Witherspoon's take on the name is that seven is a holy number and we are all made of dust. >>

  • Agatha from Gliwice, PolandI think that it doesn't really matter what is the origin of the name of the band. Let's better focus on what they are trying to tell us by means of their music and lyrics.

    - Agatha, Gliwice, Poland
  • Nick from Papakura, New ZealandIt was actually a dust like pesticide named sevin-to. I read somewhere that Hornsby was an exterminator before the band started getting serious. That's why he had the sevin-to.
  • John from Florence, Alsevendust is a pesticide
  • Barrie from London, Englandaparently the name sevendust came from a can of oil or something similar in one of the band members garage
