Songfacts®:

  • The British Library holds a copy of Sham 69: History, Discography And Biography, a document which cannot really be called a fanzine much less a book. Although undated it appears to have been published around the end of 1978, somewhat prematurely. Among the early Sham 69 lyrics it contains are those to "I Don't Wanna," which is said to have been the first song Jimmy Pursey ever wrote. It is actually credited to Pursey and guitarist Dave Parsons, but all things considered, it is a fair rendition of the angry punk genre of the day.

It was released October 21, 1977 on the Step Forward label backed by "Red London" and "Ulster." >>>
