Songfacts®:

  • This downtempo number is the penultimate track from the 1982 Firedance album. According to drummer Chris Logan in the 2006 book Suzie Smiled... The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal: "'Call Me In The Morning' was done in the morning! It started life as a jam, early in the morning, which was thrown in when we found we were light for the album. Because we did it about 3 o'clock in the morning, we were really tired, but the engineer and everyone said we needed one more track, and we put a lot of effort into it even though we were very tired by then."

Certainly the song has a tired though not unpleasant feel to it. It runs to around 5 minutes 15 seconds. >>>
