Songfacts®:

  • "Baby Got Back" is far and away Sir Mix-a-Lot's most popular song, but it's not just the juicy bubble he's after. In "Put 'Em On The Glass" he asks the ladies to press their 36Ds up against the car window so he can get a good look. They can even do it from the passenger seat on the highway: As they pass, just put em' on the glass and he'll catch a glimpse.
  • This was Sir Mix-a-Lot's first single from Chief Boot Knocka, his follow-up to Mack Daddy, the album with "Baby Got Back." It didn't chart, as the song proved too risqué for radio. A lesson here: butts are more appealing than boobs when it comes to songs.
  • The NSFW video has lots of topless women, which kept it off the air on MTV and BET. It did well on The Box, a channel where viewers could call a 900 number to get videos played.
  • In the 2014 movie Top Five, various characters name their top five rap acts throughout the film. Jerry Seinfeld, playing himself, rounds out his list with Sir Mix-a-Lot, saying: "Yeah! Put 'Em On The Glass!"

His other four: Sugarhill Gang, Eminem, Wale and Ice Cube.
