Songfacts®:

  • This reggae drum step tune is a song by American electronic music producer Skrillex, off his fourth EP Bangarang. The track entered Billboard Hot 100 Chart at #74 in January 2012. The song features rapping from the female rapper Sirah, who appeared on a previous song from Skrillex titled "Weekends!!!"
  • Kyoto is a city in Japan, but that's not where the song takes its name. Sirah starts off her rap with "Chillin' in Kyoto Grand with my man Skrill." The Kyoto Grand Hotel and Garden is a boutique hotel located in the Little Tokyo area of downtown Los Angeles at 120 South Los Angeles Street. Following bankruptcy proceedings, it was rebranded as DoubleTree by Hilton.
  • An earlier version of this track without Sirah's vocals was titled "Ruffneck Bass."
