Songfacts®:

  • This tribute to single parents raising their children without a father, was a digital single released on May 3, 2011 by Smokey Robinson on SRR (Saguaro Road Rhythm) Records. Smokey was compelled to write the song after watching a documentary on the plight of the single mother, which left a tremendous impact on him. "I thought about how many single moms there are in the world and many of them have homes where they are raising them completely on their own," he said.
  • The song finds Smokey singing, "I have never known a man that is stronger than you…" He said: "This is a song that I hope will impact people and give the single moms out there some encouragement. Many are struggling to raise more than one child by themselves with no participation from the dad, and so I hope these words will be inspirational to them. I hope it can also inspire or enlighten their children or adults who have already been raised by single moms."
