Songfacts®:

  • This uplifting track features Charlie Wilson singing over horns and hand claps about his thankfulness that "God has given us one more day." The song was recorded for Snoop Dogg's first inspirational album, Bible of Love.
  • Charlie and Snoop first collaborated together on four songs from the rapper's 1996 album Tha Doggfather. "Uncle Charlie has always been a big inspiration for me," Snoop told Billboard. "His testimony and what he's overcome. This project wouldn't be complete without him."
  • The song was solely penned by Charlie Wilson and Snoop doesn't seem to even appear on the track.
  • The six minute-long Dylan Brown directed video, features Snoop and Charlie and others joining a father in a prayerful vigil to help his daughter overcome her drug addiction. The cast sang an impromptu version of "Jesus on the Mainline" during a break in the filming, which was included in the visual.

"It sounded so good that we decided to leave it in the video. Snoop's prayer was truly from the heart. There was no script for it and it was done in one take," said Brown.
