Songfacts®:

  • The first and only single from A Thousand Leaves, a much longer version of the track was released on the SubUrbia soundtrack in 1997.
  • The main riff was most likely borrowed from "Skeleton," a song by the alternative rock group Helium, who were one of singer Thurston Moore's favorite bands.
  • The video was directed by Harmony Korine of Spring Breakers fame. Apparently Thurston Moore was asked during an interview who would direct the visual. Not having thought about it, he happened to glance at an ad for Korine's directorial debut Gummo and said that they hoped to get Harmony Korine.
  • The video stars a teenage Macaulay Culkin kissing his future wife Rachel Miner. (They married in 1998). Thurston Moore was apparently "shocked" that Culkin agreed to appear.
