Songfacts®:

  • This song recounts the life of the infamous American serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered 17 men and boys, many of whom were of African or Asian descent, between 1978 and 1991. The murders were particularly gruesome, involving rape, torture, dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism. Dahmer was arrested in July 1991 and incarcerated at the Columbia Correctional Institution, where he was beaten to death by an inmate.
  • Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera told Straight.com why he chose to write about such a ill-famed killer: "One of the reasons I wrote the song was my brother [drummer Iggor] told me he got the receipt from somebody in Milwaukee for the freezer where Jeffrey Dahmer kept all his heads and body parts," Cavalera explained. "And that was something like, 'Wow, you have that?' I wanted to write a song about a serial killer for a long time, and I remembered the story about Iggor with this receipt and I decided to do Jeffrey Dahmer."
