  • "Angst In My Pants" could be sexual frustration, or more literally, a stubborn erection. The song describes a guy with a respectable job and a rich social life who lives with an uneasy feeling down below.
  • This song was too far off-center to get any chart action, but it found a following in Sparks' stronghold of Los Angeles, where it earned airplay on the influential radio station KROQ.
  • Many Sparks songs around this time had prurient themes. "There was maybe a spirit to the times that was conducive to a little bit more of that cheapish, hormone-lad kind of song," Ron Mael said in a Songfacts interview.
