  • Frontman Aaron Lewis told Artist Direct the story behind this song: "'Tangled Up In You' was a song that I improvisationally wrote during a sound check. I was just making s--t up. I came up with a chord progression that I thought was cool. I started playing the chord progression during sound check, and I started singing words over it. By the end of my little jam session, my tour manager had walked up to me, and he asked, 'What record is that off of?' I was like, 'I was making that up as I went.' I was totally just messing around. He responded, 'That song needs to definitely go somewhere.' From that point on, I made it up on the spot a few more times while playing live. Finally, I settled on words that seemed like they kept coming out over and over again. I just kept playing it. In the recording process, that element really was kind of missing from the record. So I decided, instead of saving that song and using it on my solo record, I would put it on this record."
  • Aaron Lewis recorded a countrified version for his 2011 debut solo country EP, Town Line. "The song was already a little bit country in term of its flavor with the slide guitar and the pedal steel," he said. "We brought it further down that road."

  • Jaime Melissa Moore from West VirginiaMy fella found and played this song for me one night & I was immediately in love with it almost as much as I am with! The words are as close to perfect as you can get if you want to explain how much it is that you love someone and how important they are in your life. It became our song and will forever be the music set to our love story!!!
