Songfacts®:

  • This is a track from Quid Pro Quo, the 29th studio album by the English rock band Status Quo. The record was released in a deluxe format exclusively at Tesco on May 30, 2011. The regular edition was released elsewhere week later on June 7.
  • The song was co-written by lifelong Quo fan Alan Crook, a trucker from Suffolk, who has seen the band perform over 400 times. Having penned lyrics in the past without any luck, the words for this tune caught the attention of bassist John Edwards and keyboard player Andrew Brown who added the music. Crook told The Sun it's a dream come true. "I will get some royalties but I didn't do it for the money. It is the fulfillment of a lifelong ambition," he said.

He added: "I spend all my holidays following them around on tour across Europe. I wouldn't call myself their biggest fan but having a song on their new album makes me one of the most fortunate."
  • Quid Pro Quo debuted at #10 in the UK charts, the band's best chart placing for an original album since Don't Stop peaked at #2 in 1996.
