Songfacts®:

  • Steve Aoki teamed up with Lauren Jauregui for this track, which features the Fifth Harmony songstress' solo vocals. Aside from her work with Fifth Harmony, Jauregui has also appeared on songs by Halsey ("Strangers"), Marian Hill ("Back To Me") and Ty Dolla $ign ("In Your Phone"). However, this was her first release as lead vocalist and songwriter as well as representing her debut venture into mainstream EDM.
  • Jauregui sings about making a powerful connection with someone and being so taken by that person that she doesn't want the night to end.

You got me paralyzed, and I think I like it
Caught me by surprise, I'm not usually like this, no
Got me paralyzed, don't think I can help it
    Why's it feel so right?

Jauregui told Billboard magazine that she thrived on working on the tune and giving it her own twist, explaining: "So I took it and rewrote most of the lyrics, wrote a bridge on it, vocal produced it, did all of the background and that kind of stuff."
  • Aoki praised Jauregui's talents and found it to be a pleasure to work with her in the studio. "She's got so many ideas and the problem is, they're all good," he grinned to Billboard magazine. "She's very meticulous. The attention to detail Lauren has is something I don't find in many people. She's very attentive to the detail. She's got those ears, she's got the sensibility and the vision, and I'm just totally inspired to be in the studio with her."
