Songfacts®:

  • Audio Secrecy was written over a period of five years by frontman Corey Taylor. It details a turbulent phase in the vocalist's life in which he got divorced, gave up drinking and then re-married. He told Kerrang! magazine August 28, 2010: "When I got away from that situation (with his ex-wife) I had an explosion of creativity. Suddenly I was free. It was like a nuclear bomb had gone off. I wrote three songs straight after that: Pieces, Miracles and Imperfect."
  • Taylor explained this song to Kerrang!: "It's about sitting and waiting for someone to come, but knowing they're not going to show up, and it's also about the melancholy that comes with that."
