Songfacts®:

  • Stooshe's fourth single finds them singing about somebody who's become too comfortable in a relationship. Stooshe member Alex explained to The Sun: "Slip is about when you've been in a relationship so long that the guy or girl just decides to forget their manners, not really care or look after their appearance any more... they let it slip."
She added: "The song is about getting things back to those first few months of love when you really cared."
  • The song was helmed by the production duo Future Cut, who previously worked with Stooshe on their similarly '60s-inflenced single "Black Heart" as well as their breakthrough release, "Love Me."
  • The song's music video was directed by Bryan Barber, whose other credits include the clips for Outkast's "Hey Ya" and Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man." Stooshe member Courtney told the Student Pocket Guide: "He wanted to bring out something new in us; normally we're running around, laughing, joking about, so he tried to make us sexy for the camera, which I was laughing at! He would get up and show us what he wanted us to do, and made just as much of an idiot of himself as we were feeling, to help us understand. He is an amazing guy to work with."
