Songfacts®:

  • Stormtroopers of Death is Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian's side project with Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante, the original Anthrax bassist/lead guitarist Danny Lilker and their pal, Bronx-born heavy metal musician Billy Milano. They are among the first bands to fuse hardcore Punk with Thrash Metal into a style sometimes called Crossover Thrash.
  • Drummer Charlie Benante had a hand in writing this song. He told us in a 2013 interview: "The beat has got to be this extreme beat. So that's how that whole song came together, because the beat was what it was going to be. So I kind of modeled it after that."
  • S.O.D. didn't take themselves too seriously but their politically incorrect lyrics stirred up some controversy. Dan Lilker said, "The lyrics were never intended to be serious, just to piss people off."
