Songfacts®:

  • This is the fourth single from the second album by Sub Focus, who is the performing alias of Dubstep producer Nick Douwma. The song became his biggest chart success to date when it debuted at #10 on the UK singles chart, edging out the #12 peak of his previous release "Tidal Wave."
  • The song features guest vocals from Alex Clare, who is best known for his top ten hit "Too Close." The London-born singer-songwriter also featured on Rudimental's "Not Giving In," which peaked at #14 in the UK at the tail end of 2012.
  • According to our dictionary, 'endorphins' are opiate-like substances produced by the brain and the pituitary gland. They have pain killing properties similar to morphine.
  • The word 'endorphins' is not included in the song's lyrics. Songs on our database that do include it include:
"Rush Minute" by Massive Attack ("Peaches living like lychee's. Digging the scene like beautiful clichés. You fill me with endorphins.")
"Fast Lane" by Bad Meets Evil (At war with a bottle, this Captain Morgan attacks my organs. My slow flow is euphoric, it's like I rap endorphins.")
  • Douwma recalled Clare's contribution to MusicRadar.com: "I went though a lot of different versions of this track during its creation. I even had a female vocal on it at one point. As soon as Alex vocalled it, though, it really started to come together."

"He came over to the studio and in an afternoon it was done," Douwma continued. "It just took three hours to sort his part out. I think that's a good sign - when you're writing something and it comes together quickly. It's like it's meant to be! I'm a big fan of his vocal - he's got a great voice."
